Walk With Ease: A Feldenkrais® Workshop

Harold Tausch

Sunday, September 22, 2019

1 to 3 p.m.

$30 plus HST

Effortless walking involves the whole body. The head and neck are upright with the freedom to look around, the back twists subtly as a result of the diagonal relationship between the arm and shoulder and the opposite hip. The feet and ankles absorb some of the impact of walking and the force transmits easily through the knees and hips and up the spine. This workshop will focus on learning to let go of the unconscious habits that interfere with your walking.

The slow, gentle Awareness Through Movement® exercises will help you to coordinate the movement of your shoulders and arms, pelvis and hips, knees, and feet for light, effortless walking.

Harold Tausch attended the New York Feldenkrais Professional Training program from 1987 to 1991 and maintains a private practice and teaches classes and workshops in Toronto with occasional forays to Sault Ste. Marie. He became interested in movement in his early twenties, beginning with the study of yoga and them moving on to modern dance and theatre and discovered Feldenkrais in his thirties. He continues to be fascinated by our movement possibilities and is currently involved in contact improvisation, free-style dancing, acting, music, and squash.Harold brings a warm, relaxing presence and a sense of fun to his workshops. Over the years, he has taught workshops and classes all over Ontario as well as at the Omega Institute in New York and Dance New England Dance Camp.

Journeys: Awakening our relationship with nature and ourselves

Simone Bowman

Sunday, September 29, 2019

10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

$280 plus HST

Through shamanic journeying, meditation, and immersive experiences in nature, we explore, heal and awaken our relationship with ourselves and our natural world. We find alignment as we broaden our awareness in community with nature, seeing ourselves not as separate but as one with nature, interwoven in the fabric of life. This is about healing that transcends our personal journey as we engage in a relationship with our planet and all sentient beings with whom we live and interact.

This workshop includes shamanic drum journeys where you will have the opportunity to connect with your compassionate helping spirits who serve as your guides. There will also be sessions in the forest, as you strengthen your relationship with the natural environment. You will be in a beautiful natural setting where you will connect with trees, rocks, plants, water. The workshop location backs on to a stunning conversation area in Dundas.

The workshop is held Sunday September 29, 10am - 5pm. The cost is $220 +hst. It is facilitated by Simone Bowman who is an educator, body-mind therapist, massage therapist and energy practitioner.
